NSE to Conduct Disaster Recovery Site Trading Sessions in September 2024
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has announced plans to conduct trading sessions from its Disaster Recovery (DR) site. As per the official notification, the exchange will hold mock trading on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 01:00 PM, followed by live trading sessions on Monday, September 30, 2024, and Tuesday, October 1, 2024.
These sessions are part of the NSE’s efforts to ensure operational readiness and reliability in case of an emergency that requires shifting operations to the DR site. Market participants, including brokers and investors, are expected to actively participate in these sessions to help verify the system’s efficiency.
Mock trading allows stakeholders to simulate real trading conditions, ensuring that the systems at the DR site are fully operational and capable of handling market activities seamlessly. The subsequent live trading sessions will further confirm the DR site’s readiness for uninterrupted market operations.
The DR site acts as a backup for the NSE’s primary data center, ensuring that the exchange can continue its operations smoothly even in the event of technical disruptions or natural disasters affecting its primary site.
This initiative underscores NSE’s commitment to ensuring market stability and preparedness in handling unforeseen events, thus boosting investor confidence in the exchange’s technological infrastructure.
